My life could only be described as a "Mountain Life", growing up facing the Dachstein Massive in Austria and having skied, hiked and climbed as long as I can remember. Actually I can't remember learning how to ski, just like I don't remember learning how to walk, it was simply part of growing up in the mountains.
Whilst finishing my Journeyman carpentry I already acquired some of the mountaineering skills needed to get certifications as a Ski Instructor, UIAGM Mountain Guide and Mountain Rescue Technician. Coming to Canada was a dream come true and I'm ever so grateful to Mike Wiegele and Hans Gmoser for taking me on at a young age and allowing me to hone my skills as a "Guide & Ski Instructor". Over the years I have been given career opportunities I never envisioned even in my wildest dreams. Add to these dreams a "Pilot Licence" and its plain to see why British Columbia became the perfect home. Building and managing lodges, skiing, guiding, flying and enjoying many a wonderful days with our guests have all been part of this great mountain life. And the adventure continues, Canada, Austria, add a taste of "China" and who knows whats next, ..do feel free to call me to discuss your crazy ideas, you might just find a willing ear! ;-) |
